Gentrification is deeply rooted in a history of discriminatory laws and practices in the United States and it also has enormous impacts on residents' lives. Cut (2020) is a documentary film that captures the last days of the oldest hair salon in Chinatown, New York. “37 years 5 weeks and 1 day” is a book designed based on the same gentrification story.
